We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

Our commitment

We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry, carry out work you have asked for, run our advertising, and keep the website working properly.

We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we will not. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing, we do not trade it, and we do not pass it to data brokers or list companies. The only people who see it are our own team and the service providers listed below who help us run the business.

What we collect

When you contact us

If you fill in a form, call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we collect what you give us. On our contact forms that is your name, telephone number, email address, postcode, the service you are enquiring about, and your message.

We use this to respond to you, provide a quotation, carry out work, and keep records of jobs we have done. If you found us through one of our adverts, an encrypted version of your email address and phone number is also sent to Google Ads — this is explained under Advertising below.

Lawful basis: to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. Consent for the advertising element.

How long we keep it: enquiries submitted through the website are stored for twelve months and then permanently deleted automatically. Records relating to work we have actually carried out are kept longer where we need them for accounting, insurance, warranty or legal reasons.

When you use the website

We use Google Analytics 4, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people find and use the site. This records pages viewed, how long you stay, how you arrived, your device and browser, your approximate location based on your IP address, and interactions such as scrolling, clicking links to other sites and downloading files.

This is statistical information about how the site is used. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Lawful basis: consent. These cookies are not set until you accept them through the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time.

Session recording

We use Microsoft Clarity, a Microsoft service, to record how visitors move around this website — where they scroll, what they click, and which pages they leave from. We use it to find pages that are confusing or not working properly.

What is recorded is the movement of an anonymous browser. It is not linked to your name, your enquiry, your telephone number, or the statistics we hold in Google Analytics, and we do not use it to work out who you are.

The recording tool is set to hide the text people type into our forms. If you fill in your name, your email address or your telephone number, that text is blanked out before the recording leaves your browser, so it is not visible to us when we watch the playback.

Session recording only runs if you accept it through the cookie banner. If you decline, nothing is recorded and the site works in exactly the same way.

Lawful basis: consent. Session recording does not run until you accept it through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

When you use a contact form

Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which distinguishes real visitors from automated spam. To do this, reCAPTCHA collects information including your IP address and how you interact with the page, and sends it to Google. This happens on pages containing a form whether or not you submit it.

Google’s use of that information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the site from spam and abuse.

Website security

We use Wordfence to protect the site. It records IP addresses and details of suspicious or blocked requests. This is kept only as long as needed to keep the site secure.

Advertising

We advertise online through Google Ads. The website carries tracking that measures how well that advertising works and lets us show adverts to people who have already visited. None of it runs until you accept advertising cookies through the cookie banner.

There is no Meta or Facebook pixel, no TikTok pixel and no LinkedIn tag on this website.

Three things happen when advertising cookies are accepted:

Conversion tracking

We record when a visit leads to an enquiry — clicking our phone number, our email address or our WhatsApp link, or submitting a contact form. This tells us which adverts produce real enquiries and which are wasting money. It does not tell us who you are.

Remarketing

Your visit is added to an audience list held in Google Ads so that we can show our adverts to people who have looked at our site before. This uses cookies set by Google and by DoubleClick, which is Google’s advertising network. You are on that list as an anonymous browser, not as a named person.

Matching an enquiry to an advert

When you submit a contact form, the email address and telephone number you enter are converted into a scrambled code — a one-way hash — and sent to Google Ads. Google compares that code against its own records to work out whether the enquiry came from someone who clicked one of our adverts. Google cannot read your email address or phone number back out of the code, and nothing is sent unless you actually submit the form.

This is the only part of our advertising that involves your contact details rather than anonymous browsing information, which is why we set it out separately.

Lawful basis: consent. If you decline advertising cookies, none of the above happens.

How long: advertising audience lists hold a visit for up to 540 days before it drops off automatically.

Any data we receive from advertising or analytics is used only to run and improve our own business. It is kept confidential and is never sold, rented or passed to anyone else for their own purposes.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us operate:

Each of these processes data on our instructions. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK–US Data Bridge.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. When you first arrive you will see a cookie banner asking what you are happy for us to use. Only necessary cookies are set before you choose.

You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer, or block and delete cookies through your browser settings. Declining anything other than necessary cookies will not stop you using the site.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy
• Have inaccurate information corrected
• Ask us to delete information where we no longer need it
• Object to or restrict how we use it
• Ask for your information in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or call 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Children

This website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever what we collect changes, including if we add or remove advertising tracking. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
